6:00pm Candidate Debate for State Senate in North End [North Bennet Street School, 150 North Street]
The State Senate Debate to be held on Monday evening, 6pm, April 4th at the North Bennett Street School, 150 North Street. Organized by North End / Waterfront Neighborhood Council (NEWNC). We have secured Peter Howe formerly of NECN to moderate the debate, and it will feature questions from various North End residents and non profits. We are still working out the format, but this will be a true debate, not a forum. NEWNC expects an audience of over 100 North End. View the event flyer.

5:00pm Columbus Park Walking Tour and Lecture at Christopher Columbus Park
From Waterfront Park to Christopher Columbus Park 1973 – 2016. Come hear the interesting behind the scene stories of how the park evolved. Join guest speaker Ann Gilardi Johnson for a walking tour (meet in the Rose Kennedy Rose Garden) from 5:00PM to 6:00 PM on Wednesday, April 6, 2016 followed by a slide presentation at the North End Library 6:30PM – 7:30PM with refreshments.

6:30pm Slide Presentation on Columbus Park at North End Library [25 Parmenter Street]
From Waterfront Park to Christopher Columbus Park 1973 – 2016. Ann Johnson, a member of the Boston Society of Landscape Architects, is known for her design of urban spaces including parks, playgrounds, memorials and streetscapes in Boston and Worcester. She is recognized in Boston for the design of James Hayes Park and Childe Hassam Park, both award winning designs in the South End. Ann began her career at the Boston Redevelopment Authority and witnessed the design and construction of additions to Christopher Columbus Park.

7:00pm Introduction to Aromatherapy [West End Community Center, 1 Congress Street]
Learn about Aromatherapy and Essential Oils from a European holistic perspective. This is an opportunity to open an invisible door to the secret and exotic world of scents. Reservations required as space will be limited.

6:00pm Michela Musolino – Terra Mare Sangue concert and CD presentation [I AM Books]
Michela Musolino has been carrying on a love-affair with Sicilian music for most of her life. Known for her fiery and passionate interpretations of both traditional and contemporary Sicilian folk and roots music, Musolino turns world fusion songs into timeless pieces and infuses her vocals with the emotions of life.

10:00am NEMPAC Perform-a-thon at the Boston Public Market! [100 Hanover St, Boston]
Let’s keep the beat going for FOUR entire hours to show our support for the NEMPAC Children’s Scholarship Fund – helping kids study music!!  NEMPAC looks forward to their 2016 Performathon where we host a special event to help us raise funding for our NEMPAC Children’s Scholarship Fund. All proceeds go directly to support need-based scholarships! More information.

5:00pm Scanzonati – Stefano Marchese & Andrea Pejrolo – Allegro Concert Series [I AM Books]
“Scanzonati” is the new project that brings again on the same stage the jazz singer Marchese and the Berklee Faculty Pejrolo. The project not simply express the deep love that the two musicians have for the widely known “canzone” form, but represents also an incredible rich and precious age of the Italian music made of well written music as well as a lyrical finesse.

8:00am Reconfiguration of Abstract Sculpture at Armenian Heritage Park
A crane will lift the two halves of the Abstract Sculpture, a split dodecahedron made of steel and aluminum, and reshape the two halves into a new and different configuration. The annual reconfiguration is symbolic of all who were pulled away from their country of origin and came to these shores, establishing themselves in new and different ways.

1:30pm Save Dafur Walk Against Genocide at Armenian Heritage Park
Join the Massachusetts Coalition to Save Darfur’s third annual Walk Against Genocide which begins at the Holocaust Memorial and closes at Armenian Heritage Park, SaveDarfurMa.org.
