The Friends of Christopher Columbus Park held a successful gala on November 6th at the Boston Harbor Hotel. Proceeds of the annual fundraiser go to the all-volunteer group to provide enhancements for the waterfront park.
“It was a wonderfully warm & festive evening,” said gala co-chair Meghan Denenberg. “There were exciting experiential auction items, a terrific swing band & lots of dancing. The flowers were created by our volunteers and they were gorgeous. We’re so thankful for the support of Parks Commissioner Chris Cook who spoke eloquently about how proud he is of the park & the volunteers,” she added.
FOCCP funds the seasonal trellis lighting as well as offering several family-friendly events throughout the year. The group’s horticulture volunteers maintain the beautiful Rose Kennedy Rose Garden, the Crescent Gardens. The group also works with the Boston Parks and Recreation Department to assure the safety and cleanliness of the park.
“A big thank you to all our sponsors and donations from the local restaurants and businesses. Their support helps make the evening a huge success,” said Denenberg.
FOCCP member, Frankie Boyer, shares these photos from the gala.
