Following the October 1st Naturalization Ceremony at Faneuil Hall, the new United States citizens were welcomed to attend a reception at Armenian Heritage Park on the Greenway.
The Black Sea Salsa trumpeters led a procession to the park and played festive music during the event. Greetings were extended by James M. Kalustian, President, Armenian Heritage Foundation, Park’s sponsor along with Middlesex Sheriff Peter Koutoujian. A brief program featured Dr. Vartan Gregorian, President, Carnegie Corporation of New York (former President, New York Public Library and Brown University) with a thank you by Armine Afeyan, on behalf of the Friends of Armenian Heritage Park.
The special event was funded by the Park’s Anna and Noubar Afeyan Fund, an endowed fund supporting programs at Armenian Heritage Park on the Greenway. This was a first time initiative – planned by the Friends of Armenian Heritage Park in collaboration with the United States District Court, City of Boston / Mayor Martin J. Walsh and the Office of New Bostonians. Gifts were provided by Bostonian Society / Old State House (one year membership) Faneuil Hall Marketplace (gift bag) and Rose Kennedy Greenway Conservancy. (Carousel rides).
