This past weekend, our Principal, Karen McLaughlin, our Director of Advancement, Lisa Santarpio as well as all of our teachers, hosted our annual Welcome Back to School event for all of our new and returning St. John School students with over 250 attendees coming out for the fun-filled day at the Marriott Residence Inn on Tudor Wharf. It was a great opportunity for our students to meet new friends, as well as their teachers for the upcoming school year and to catch up with those friends we met last year.
John Costello from WROL AM950 broadcasted live from the event, even interviewing our Principal, a few of our students, parents and teachers on air! Despite the drizzle, the kids had a blast being entertained by Terry Murray, The Inventor Mentor. He delighted the kids with hands-on water bottle rockets, air tube rockets, large bubble wands and build your own rockets. We were even lucky enough to have The Boston Fire Department Marine Unit give us a Deck Guns Salute. We would like to thank Boston City Councilor Michael Flaherty and State Rep Dan Ryan for coming out to support our welcome party.
