Labor Day Party Brings Out Dozens of Seniors to ABCD Center

Enjoying a Hearty Lunch with Friends

The ABCD North End/West End Neighborhood Service Center (NE/WE NSC) held its Labor Day Party last week.  Over 3 dozen seniors turned out for one last summer meal of pasta, chicken, potatoes, egg salad, and cake.

Maria Stella, Gulla, Director, gave a rousing speech to the crowd.  “More than one last barbecue,” she said emphatically, “it is a day set aside to pay tribute to the hard-working men and women that helped and still do help make this nation a place where dreams and aspiration can come true through hard work and diligence.

Many of you seniors I am sure remember days when you worked hard both inside and outside the home, and your families did, too. We celebrate everyone’s hard work on Labor Day by pausing from our work and just enjoying a day of relaxation.” Well said!

Happy end of summer, everyone!
