Monday, August 3

7:30pm Family Boat Cruise at Long Wharf
As part of North End Family Pride events, the Neighborhood Family Boat Cruise will set sail onto the harbor. More information.

Tuesday, August 4

11:00am Puppet Show at North End Library [25 Parmenter Street, Boston]
As part of North End Family Pride events, City Councilor Sal LaMattina will be putting on a Puppet Show at the North End Branch Library – Caravan Puppets present: Family Hero’s Puppet Show. View the event post.

6:00pm National Night Out on the Prado [Paul Revere Mall]
BBQ, DJ Sal, Candle Ceremony, Face Painting, Balloon Art, NEMPAC, Boston Police, Church Bells, Crafts and neighborhood tables! View the event post.

6:30pm FOCCP Sunset Harbor Cruise at Long Wharf
The boat leaves from the dock next to Christopher Columbus Park near the Boston Marriott Long Wharf Hotel, with all the proceeds benefiting Friends of Christopher Columbus Park. This cruise is donated by Boston Harbor Cruises. There will be complimentary Hors d’oeuvres and a cash bar, the tickets are $45.00 each.

7:00pm Parks Committee (NEWRA) Meeting at Mariner’s House, 11 North Square
Join the NEWRA Parks Committee in looking out for our neighborhood parks! The committee meets monthly on the first Tuesday of the month, more information at NEWRA.org.

Wednesday, August 5

12:30pm Labyrinth Walk at Armenian Heritage Park
Labyrinth Walks with the New England Labyrinth Guild Armenian Heritage Park on the Greenway, located between Faneuil Hall Marketplace and Christopher Columbus Park at the intersection of Atlantic Avenue and Cross Street.

6:00pm “King of California” Movie at North End Library [25 Parmenter Street, Boston]
Charlie (Michael Douglas) gets released from an insane asylum and moves in with Miranda (Evan Rachel Wood), the young daughter he left behind. Charlie believes that there is treasure hidden beneath the local Costco, so he puts together a plan to unearth the loot. The cost is free and intended for an adult audience, “King of California” (2007) has a runtime of 1hr 36min.

7:00pm 7pm Strictly Sinatra at City Hall Plaza
The music of Frank Sinatra will come alive as celebrated entertainer Michael Dutra brings his Strictly Sinatra tribute to the Dorothy Curran Wednesday Night Concert Series on City Hall Plaza.  Dutra takes to the stage more than 300 nights per year stunning audiences along the East Coast with his renditions of Frank Sinatra classics.

7:30pm “Rocky” Movie Night at the Gassy, DeFilippo Playground
“Rocky” is the movie of the week and will start at dusk on Wednesdays in July and August at the Gassy, DeFilippo Playground on Prince Street. Pizza at 7pm and movie starts around 8pm. Thanks to Pizzeria Regina – bring your chairs and blankets!

Thursday, August 6

12:00pm Literary Lunch Break at Faneuil Hall Marketplace
Grab lunch from the various vendors and join every Thursday at the Lounge Reading Room. Come chat with local authors as they read and discuss their recent novels or put on an unforgettable performance. July 30th will feature – “Accidents of Marriage”  by Randy Susan Meyers.

1:00pm NEAD Arts & Crafts at Mirabella Pool
NEAD will provide arts and crafts with Patricia and Marlo at the Mirabella Pool outside the concession stand to the left under the trees. Children ages 6 and up will be able to make a fun craft each week. Children under age 6 can participate with a parents help.

6:00pm NE Public Safety Meeting – Nazzaro Center, 30 N. Bennet Street
These meetings are open to the public and are attended by Area A-1 Boston Police.

Friday, August 7

Madonna Della Cava Feast at Hanover & Battery Streets [ALSO on Saturday August 8th and Sunday August 9th0
The Madonna Della Cava Feast will take place on Battery & Hanover Streets with the Sunday Procession beginning at 1:00pm. Visit MadonnaDellaCava.com for more information on the feast!

10:00am Kids Fitness at Faneuil Hall Marketplace
August 7th will be taught by Kim and will be kids yoga. Bring your children to Faneuil Hall Marketplace for a fun fitness series (parents, don’t be shy to jump in too). Get the opportunity to try yoga, Zumba and many other great classes! Join us in the South Market near Wagamama on Fridays from 10am to 10:45am.

12:00pm Afternoon Concert Series at Sam Adams Park (Faneuil Hall)
“Erica Russo and the Good Sport” will be performing as part of the 2015 Friday Afternoon Concert Series lineup. From July 10 – August 21, 2015, each Friday a different local band will perform live from 12pm-2pm in Sam Adams Park (Faneuil Hall). The event is free!

6:00pm NEAD Sports Night at Polcari Playground (Nazzaro)
Sports Night program returns on Friday evenings for 5 weeks in a row. This program will once again be led by Jeremy Sarzana, who works at the Nazzaro Center throughout the year. There will be pizza and soft drinks for the kids who participate in the sports night program.

6:00pm “The Big Sleep” Movie at Rowes Wharf – BHH
Private detective Philip Marlowe is hired by a rich family. Before the complex case is over, he’s seen murder, blackmail, and what might be love. More information on the movie.

Saturday, August 8

11:30am Author Talk: “Lost Boston” by A. Sammarco [North End Library, 25 Parmenter Street]
“Lost Boston” by Anthony M. Sammarco was published in 2014 by Pavilion of Great Britain. The book has sixty eight essays on once well known institutions that failed to stand the test of time, and were either demolished, lost to fire or neglect. A book signing and reception will follow the lecture, and copies are $18.95 per copy, Cash or checks accepted. View the event post.

1:00pm, 1:45pm, & 2:30pm: A Loyalist Perspective on the Revolution [19 N Square, Boston]
