David Marx Presented with Community Service Award for Public Safety Work

Presenting Community Service Award to David Marx, BPD Superintendent Bernard O’Rourke, BPD Captain Kenneth Fong, BPD Community Director Kerry Ryan and BPD Dep. Superintendent Nora Baston

North End Public Safety Committee Chair, David Marx, was presented with a Community Service Award by Boston Police District A-1 Captain Kenneth Fong at Tuesday’s Neighborhood Night Out event on the Prado/Paul Revere Mall. Captain Fong recognized Marx’s efforts to work with District A-1 to improve the neighborhood’s public safety and advocate on behalf of North End residents.

David Marx currently serves as a Joint Chairman of the North End Waterfront Neighborhood Council (NEWNC) / North End Waterfront Residents’ Association (NEWRA) Public Safety Committee.  In that capacity, he attends and runs the monthly North End Public Safety Committee meetings, alongside Boston Police representatives serving as a liaison between neighborhood residents and BPD District A-1.  He formerly served six years on NEWNC, where he served as Public Safety Committee Chairman.

“I believe in making the North End the safest neighborhood in Boston,” said David Marx. “A city is only as strong as the quality of its neighborhoods. We are fortunate to live in a true neighborhood where, given the plethora of opportunities, one can be as involved with community affairs as they want to be.”

David moved to Boston’s North End neighborhood in August 1997. He is a graduate of University of Wisconsin-Madison and the New England School of Law. He currently works in the Commercial Litigation Practice Group of a downtown Boston law firm. David was born and raised in the Philadelphia suburb of Bensalem, PA.
