Obituary: Anna (Di Gerolamo) Kapustin of Boston’s North End

Anna (Di Gerolamo) Kapustin, aged 91, passed away Monday, July 20, 2015. She was born and lived in (and loved) the North End for most of her life. She was the wife of Nicholas Kapustin (deceased) and the mother of Kenneth and Wayne, both deceased, and leaves daughters Deborah (Byrne) and Sandra (Hughes) and 12 cherished grandchildren as well as her 2 precious great grandchildren.

Known to everyone as Anna K, she was a devout Christian and active in her community both as a volunteer for many causes as well as working as director of nutrition services for the Kit Clark Senior Lunch Program, where she acted unofficially as a liaison for many of the Italian speaking seniors who came to the program for lunch and socializing.

When she retired she volunteered at the North End Nursing Home (where she spent the last 11 months of her life), and enjoyed spending time with her family, sunbathing (!) and making people laugh.

She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Her family is planning a private service and burial per her wishes.
