Boston Landmarks Orchestra Hatch Shell ConcertThe North End Music & Performing Arts Center (NEMPAC) is very excited for their Children’s Choir debut with the Landmarks Orchestra next Wednesday evening at the Hatch Shell!  Italian Night is scheduled for next Wednesday, August 5th at 7:00 p.m. This is NEMPAC’s first program in partnership with the Landmarks Orchestra.

The NEMPAC Children’s Choir is a collection of youth singers between the ages of 7 and 13 who are participants of NEMPAC’s Summer Vocal Arts Workshop. The workshop is currently running this week where the students are preparing for their upcoming performance. The students are of varying ages and ability levels, yet unite together as a community of singers through this program.

The NEMPAC Vocal Arts Workshop includes a vigorous schedule of Italian Language lessons with instructor and North End Resident, Matteo Roncari and Choral Instruction directed by NEMPAC Choral Instructor Alexandra Dietrich. NEMPAC Executive Director Ms. Snow leads the workshop as Program Director and NEMPAC Summer Interns Chris Romano, Kira Peterson and Karissa Coady also take part in leading interactive group activities throughout the course of the day. The NEMPAC Summer Interns are paid staff funded through the Boston Foundation “My Summer in the City” Grant Program in partnership with the North End Against Drugs. They certainly have their work cut out for them this week in both participating and assisting in directing the Children’s Choir!

We are so happy to have this opportunity to provide our students with an unforgettable, performance experience – working with professional musicians and directors as well as and being acknowledged by a greater city-wide audience at the Hatch Shell. We are happy to represent the North End and it’s Italian Heritage through our musical performance.” -Sherri Snow, NEMPAC Executive Director & Vocal Arts Workshop Director.
