9:00am Children’s Art Workshop at Christopher Columbus Park
The Boston Parks and Recreation Department’s annual ParkARTS program. Children ages 3 – 10 can enjoy watercolor painting, mask and jewelry making, treasure creations, and more at the Artists in Residence Workshops held from 9 a.m. to 12 noon in parks across the city. Participation is free and all materials are provided!

11:00am Greenway Farmers Market at North End Parks, 136 Blackstone Street
The Boston Public Market’s Greenway Farmers Market offers fresh local food on the plaza at 136 Blackstone Street, opposite the Rose Kennedy Greenway’s North End Parks. This season, the Boston Public Market Greenway Farmers Market runs on Wednesdays from 11:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. Also on Sundays from 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
6:30pm “Eagle vs Shark” Film at North End Library
“Eagle vs Shark” (2007) is the tale of two socially awkward misfits and the strange ways they try to find love; through revenge on high-school bullies, burgers, and video games. Runtime of 88 minutes.

7:30pm Haymarket Documentary Film at Modern Theatre [525 Washington Street, Boston]
The documentary film Haymarket premieres at Suffolk University’s Modern Theatre. A panel discussion led by Suffolk University History Chair Robert Allison follows. Reserve tickets at the Modern Theatre’s website.
Thursday, July 9
1:00pm NEAD Arts & Crafts at Mirabella Pool
NEAD will provide arts and crafts with Patricia and Marlo at the Mirabella Pool outside the concession stand to the left under the trees. Children ages 6 and up will be able to make a fun craft each week. Children under age 6 can participate with a parents help.

Friday, July 10
6:00pm NEAD Sports Night at Polcari Playground [Nazzaro Center – 30 N. Bennet Street]
The NEAD Sports Night program returns on Friday evenings from 6 to 8:30pm starting on Friday July 10 for 5 weeks in a row. This program will once again be led by Jeremy Sarzana, who works at the Nazzaro Center throughout the year. They will have pizza and soft drinks for the kids who participate in the sports night program.
6:00pm “Big” Movie at Rowes Wharf – BHH
“Big” (1988) starring Tom Hanks: When a boy wishes to be big at a magic wish machine, he wakes up the next morning and finds himself in an adult body. More information on the movie.
Sunday, July 12
Queen Mary 2 Arrives at Rowes Wharf
The Queen Mary 2 will arrive during a multi-city trip that started in England. The trip celebrates the 175th anniversary of the trans-Atlantic voyage of the Britannia, which was also part of the Cunard shipping line. More details at The Boston Globe. There will be Fireworks to Celebrate Queen Mary 2 Arrival over Boston Harbor at 9:00pm.
