Celebrating MaryAnn Esparo at the Rose F. Kennedy Memorial Rose Garden

Friends and family gathered this week at the Rose F. Kennedy Memorial Rose Garden to celebrate the life and contributions of MaryAnn Esparo. Members from the Friends of Christopher Columbus Park recognized MaryAnn and her dedication to the horticulture of the park, especially the rose garden that contains 104 rose bushes (one for every year lived by Rose Kennedy).

Speaking on behalf of FOCCP were President Joanne Hayes-Rines, current Horticulture Chair Robyn Reed and member Dinah Gilburd. Acoustic music was played by Crosstown during the celebration that concluded with a special toast to MaryAnn and the throwing of rose pedals in the garden. Read the obituary for MaryAnn Esparo.

  1. Matt. Great photos. You always capture the ‘essence’ of events. It appears to have been a very colorful celebration.
