Representatives from the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute, Patricia Desmond and Tom Taranto, introduced the U. Mass. Boston’s OLLI programs and curricula to the North End / Waterfront Residents’ Association (NEWRA).
OLLI offers life-enrichment and educational opportunities for adults 50 years and older. OLLI’s courses last 4 to 12 weeks and meet once a week at the UMass Boston campus. No credentials are required and there are no tests or papers as part of the 130+ courses. In addition, OLLI has special topic lunchtime lectures, social activities and field trips.
