Ms. Daniella Frattaroli and her energetic class of K4B students at St. John School in Boston’s North End were delighted to welcome Lt. Governor Karyn Polito as this week’s Royal Reader.
Lt. Governor Polito read I Want To Be Somebody New” by Robert Lopshire.
Now in its second year, Ms. Frattaroli’s Royal Reader Program welcomes guest readers into the classroom to share one of their favorite children’s stories, either contemporary or a beloved book from their own childhood. After a number of years at St. John School, Ms. Frattaroli launched this program to give her students a unique opportunity to meet a range of community members, from newspaper publishers and firefighters, to business owners and Boston City Council Members.
“When invited, Lt. Governor Polito graciously accepted immediately and promptly scheduled time in her very busy schedule to read to the students. Her enthusiasm with, and focus on, the children was absolutely wonderful. She is an exceptional role model in demonstrating the importance of incorporating reading into our daily lives,” noted Ms. Frattaroli.
