Parking Spot Valentine – It’s Getting Nasty Out There

North Ender, Charlene Love, received this note taped to the door of her business at Luigi & Lola, 404 Hanover Street. Read below for the ultimate irony of the situation!

This nasty little note was left taped to the door of my business Luigi & Lola at 404 Hanover Street. Clearly someone stole someone else’s parking space. And then someone else apparently told the original recipient of this note that I was the one who wrote it. So the recipient apparently photocopied this, added the “off your meds” comment and taped it to my door.

First thing I’d like say is that I’m saddened by the behavior of both parties. The snow is a nightmare for everyone. One person steals a spot. Not cool. The “victim” retaliates with a nasty note. Also not cool. SOMEONE tells someone else that I did it! NOT COOL! And then the person who stole the spot and whose car will be “looked out for” calls ME very angry! All of this is ridiculous!

And for me the best part is I DON’T HAVE A CAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I haven’t owned one since 2008! So both of you need to please work it out peacefully among yourselves and leave me out of it.

  1. I have just found out that the car in question is a white Mercedes that was parked on Sheafe Street last night (Thursday, 2/12/15). Apparently the angered “victim” took all the trash that had been left on top of the adjacent snow since SUNDAY (yes, no trash pick up since then!!!!) and put it on top of this Mercedes. Then apparently one of the trash bags (mine), which had been out since SUNDAY was ripped open and strewn all over this woman’s white Mercedes. (I’d be pissed too if I were her.) However, if I had done it, would I be stupid enough to dump MY OWN TRASH on her car??? I mean SERIOUSLY!!! So she then went to a coffee shop with a piece of my trash with my name on it and trashed ME!!! Then she left the note on door the door of my business, then she called me! Anyone with a lick of sense would know that the culprit wouldn’t trash her own trash! So now instead of feeling compassion for all parties involved, I am furious at the invasion of my privacy, when… wait for it… I DON’T EVEN HAVE A CAR!!!!!! Also, Ms. Mercedes owner… if you can afford a beautiful white very new and shiny car like that, perhaps you can afford to spring for a garage spot. Just sayin’.

Sorry for the rant everyone, but this is a perfect example of what happens when people are disrespectful to each other and lose their patience and don’t think. In another neighborhood at another time, this type of reaction could end up in a physical fight or worse!

As as much as I love Mayor Walsh, the fact that in a press conference he condoned people saving their parking spaces was really a bad idea. I was shocked when I saw him say that! There’s a reason I don’t have a car and this nonsense is one of them.
