Many of the Boston’s wharves fell victim to fires during the 1950s and 1960s. Boston Fire Department reported that call box 1241 was struck this morning at 6:20 a.m. for a fire in the utility room in the basement at 274 North Street, a 5-story brick apartment building. BFD stretched one line and knocked down the fire. Power was cutoff to the building displacing the current residents.
