This weekend ended the very popular soccer program by the North End Athletic Association, now in its 4th season. With over 140 kids participating, the size of the program continues to grow at a record pace. NEAA Coordinator, John Romano, credits the increasing number of families in the North End / Waterfront and surrounding neighborhoods. The program stresses teamwork and fun as well as learning the basic fundamentals of the game.
There were 3 divisions ages 4 & 5 year olds, 6 to 8 year olds and 9 to 12 year olds. All divisions and teams are co-ed with boys and girls enjoying the program. Coaches presented medals to each player at the end of the season, although rain this Saturday cut short the series of planned games at Langone Park. A special shout out to all the volunteer coaches, most which are parents of players but not all.
