The hotel property currently operating as the Fairmont Battery Wharf Hotel on the North End waterfront has been sold and will be losing the Fairmont brand, according to a statement. The current owner of the property is PNC Realty Investors, associated with an AFL-CIO pension fund investor.

Fairmont will cease operations at the property as of October 27, 2014. Fairmont Battery Wharf General Manager, Craig Reaume said in an email,

Fairmont has a longstanding connection to the city of Boston, which will continue at The Fairmont Copley Plaza. At Battery Wharf, we have enjoyed being an active member part of the North End and Waterfront neighborhoods and supporting this vibrant community.  Most especially, Fairmont would like to thank all colleagues who have taken great care of our guests each day at Battery Wharf, and we wish them the best of luck.

Westmont Hospitality Group has been named as the new manager of the hotel. It will be operated as simply, The Battery Wharf Hotel & Spa. Westmont is a hospitality management company based in Ontario, Canada, with over 500 hotels.
