The latest mural on the Rose Kennedy Greenway has been finished featuring artist Shinque Smith’s “Seven Moon Junction.”
The mural is the third of its kind at the Dewey Square location following the first by Brazilian artists Oz Gemeos and most recently by Matthew Richie’s Remanence. The previous two murals were partnerships with the Institute of Contemporary Art. This latest piece is in cooperation with the Museum of Fine Arts that is currently exhibiting Smith’s Seven Moons.
The official unveiling of the 70 foot painting is set for 5pm on Tuesday, September 23, 2014 at a free event with music by Debo Band and Zumix. Artist Shinque Smith will be on hand along with food trucks and the farmer’s market vendors at Dewey Square. Artists for Humanity will also be hosting several interactive installations.
