The City’s Department of Public Works is distributing the following general information with recycling and trash guidelines for new residents. While garbage can be placed curbside as early as 5 p.m. on the preceding evening, all residents are encouraged to place trash out in the morning before 7 a.m. to reduce the chances of spillage and scavenging. Also, do not place trash out in front of another property or in paper or small plastic (i.e., CVS) bags. Plus, never use the sidewalk litter barrels for residential trash disposal.
For the North End / Waterfront, trash AND recycling pickup days are Mondays and Fridays, including all holidays (except Christmas). Recycling should be placed curbside in clear plastic bags. Residents should report trash problems to the Mayor’s 24-hour Hotline at 617-635-4545 or online at Citizens Connect.
