As usual, on the 1st Tuesday of the month, the NEWRA Parks & Open Spaces Committee will be meeting.

Wednesday, May 7

5:30pm War Trilogy – Films of Roberto Rossellini at NE Library
Stop by the North End Library to view War Trilogy, Film by Roberto Rossellini.
Developed in Rome during the Nazi occupation and shot in the Eternal City shortly after the Nazi withdrawal, Roberto Rossellini’s Rome Open City stunned audiences the world over who saw in it an unmediated authenticity more evocative of the documentary quality of wartime newsreels than of the artificiality of earlier, more conventional WWII dramas.

6:30pm Panel: Urban Planning in Boston at West End Museum
The West End Museum on Staniford Street will host a group of Boston urban planners to discuss the current theories surrounding the state of urban planning in Boston. Sign up here.

6:30pm Ward 3 Democrats Candidates Night at Nazzaro Center, 30 N. Bennet Street
Meet the Democratic candidates for State-Wide Office: all Democratic candidates running for the offices of Governor, Lt. Governor, Treasurer and Attorney General have been invited to attend by the Ward Three Democratic Committee. 7:00pm NEWRA Monthly Meeting – Nazzaro Center, 30 N. Bennet St.
The North End/Waterfront Residents’ Association will hold its next regular monthly meeting on Thursday, May 8, 2014, in the Nazzaro Center, 30 North Bennet Street, beginning at 7:00 PM. View the agenda post.

Friday, May 9

5:00pm NEWNC Election Papers Due at Nazzaro Center
The annual NEWNC election will be held on May 17, 2014, nomination papers will are available at the Nazzaro Center desk and must be turned in with 40 signatures by May 9, 2014 at 5pm. More information at NEWNCBoston.org

1:00pm Summer Saturdays at the Paul Revere House
[11 North Square, Boston] Special events on Saturday afternoons (1:00-3:00) in May will feature craft demonstrations, historical talks, live music, and more in the Paul Revere House courtyard, weather permitting. Included with admission to the museum. View Post

1:30pm NEAA Opening Day Ceremonies at Langone Park
The re-scheduled opening day for NEAA, other games start at 8:30am. Visit their website for more information.
