Downtown Waterfront Public Realm and Watersheet Activation Plan Draft Released for Public Review

The Boston Redevelopment Authority has released their draft planning document for the Downtown Waterfront. Focusing their plans at the Northern Avenue Bridge, Harbor Towers, Long Wharf and Central Wharf (Aquarium), and the Boston Harbor watersheet itself. Seeking to address climate change, sea level rise, and storm surges that will threaten the waterfront down the road. View the post

NEWRA Opposes 2:00 a.m. Closing Hour Extension Request by Goody Glover’s

Seeking to extend their closing hour to 2:00am, Goody Glover’s sought the approval of the North End Waterfront Residents Association. Their proposal was voted down by a convincing margin, despite 11 year owner, Dan McMyler, saying that he loses business to the Faneuil Hall / Quincy Market bars that have 2:00 a.m. closing hour licenses. View the post

Acqua Seafood Grille at Mechanic Court Receives Supportive Vote For Expanded Restaurant From Residents’ Association

North End restauranteur Frank DePasquale will be adding another addition to the restaurant scene in the neighborhood. The North End / Waterfront Residents’ Association (NEWRA) voted 28-6 in support of a proposal regarding a zoning variance proposal for Full Comp. Inc., d/b/a Acqua Seafood Grille, at 1 Mechanic Court. The total seating for Acqua Seafood Grille will consist of 48 seats inside and 48 seats at the outdoor patio in the back off the building abutting the Sumner Tunnel ramp. View the post
