North End Runner Joins Pine Street in the Race to End Homelessness

The following news release is from Pine Street Inn regarding North Ender Beth Conway’s upcoming Marathon run.

Beth Conway of Boston’s North End is running the 2014 Boston Marathon in support of the Pine Street Inn. This is Beth’s first marathon, and she is excited to run on behalf of and fundraise for Pine Street’s mission to end homelessness.

“I’m honored to be running for such an amazing organization. As a Bostonian, making the trek from Hopkinton to Boston has always been on my bucket list. I could not think of a better year to support my hometown or a better organization to run for than the Pine Street Inn,” says Conway.

Thanks to the John Hancock Non-Profit Boston Marathon Program and other generous donors, Pine Street has five official entries for this year’s marathon. With a collective fundraising goal of $25,000, the team is instrumental in the “race to end homelessness.”

“A safe place to call home is something I have always taken for granted, but for many, the luxury of a warm bed does not exist,” says Conway. “I know that Pine Street provides the support system that these individuals desperately need to take back their lives.”
