North End Restaurant Week – Sunday Through Friday

5:30pm Greenway Conservancy Board Meeting at 185 Kneeland St.

RFKGC Board of Directors meeting will be Tuesday, April 8th from 5:30pm to 7pm in the first floor conference room at 185 Kneeland Street. Open to the public.

6:00pm Eliot School Public Meeting at Nazzaro Center – 30 North Bennet Street

Eliot School Community and Boston Public Schools invite you to a presentation. Discussions will focus on the new construction at the old North Bennet St. School and the master plan for the Eliot School community. View Post

6:30pm FOCCP Meeting – Friends of Christopher Columbus Park – Mariner’s House

FOCCP meeting, everyone is invited to attend the monthly meeting. Guest: Marc Hordon, President of Hordon Health, and his team will share the good news about the 2nd Annual NEWBA-Fest in the Park. The day-long festival on Saturday, June 21 is sponsored by the North End Waterfront Health and Beauty Alliance (NEWBA) to encourage healthy life style. Everyone is welcome to join us as we discuss this season’s upcoming FOCCP events.

RUFF run time in Richmond! With the longer day light hours upon us we will bring back the monthly play time in Richmond Street dog run. Come socialize your dog and meet other dog owners for some play time. Visit their Facebook Page

7:00pm Make/Speak: 7 Takes on Craft by 7 Not-So-Conventional Craftspeople at North Bennet Street School, 150 North Street

The Commonwealth of Craft, a state-wide consortium of arts groups, presents “Make/Speak: seven takes on craft by seven not-so-conventional craftspeople.” on April 10 at 7pm. The free program features seven-minute presentations by artists and is at the North Bennet Street School in Boston, one of the country’s leading schools of craftsmanship. Everyone interested in craft is invited to join the craft community for an evening of fast-paced presentations followed by a reception with the speakers. Free.

Friday, April 11

8:30am Inside Haymarket: Behind the Scenes Tour

Sellers of fresh produce have clustered in Haymarket since around 1830, although vendors started congregating here at least one hundred years earlier. Enjoy a behind-the-scenes tour of the market as it opens for the day. Learn about its history, how it has changed over time, and hear from the president of the Haymarket Pushcart Association. Visit vendors and sample fruits and vegetables, cheese, and even pizza. Admission is $35 for non-members and $25 for Historic New England members. Registration is recommended. 11:00am Greenway Carousel Opens

The Greenway Carousel will be open on Friday, Saturday and Sundays as well as the entire April school vacation week.

9:30am Volunteer Gardening at Christopher Columbus Park

The FOCCP Horticulture Committee invites all returning volunteers to meet for our season opening of the garden on Sunday at 9:30am.
