The Society of Madonna del Soccorso di Sciacca, known for the famous Fisherman’s Feast, brought the statue of the Madonna from its chapel in Boston’s North End to its founding home in Sciacca, Sicily. The Boston replica stood next to the larger statue at the Basilica Chiesa Madre in Sciacca. As part of this historic event, members carried the statue from the church in a procession through the streets of Sciacca.
