It has been a noisy January in the North Street area of Boston’s North End with two major construction projects in progress. Much of the attention is focused on the underground work going on from the Callahan Tunnel rehabilitation, but there is also a major “above ground” project to replace the brick facade on the vent building at North and Richmond Streets. The projects are separate, but the closure of the tunnel may allow the brick work to be slightly accelerated due to easier access over the tunnel entrance. We caught a bit of the construction work recently as shown in the above video.
