My name is Michelle Belliveau and I wanted to extend an invitation to the North End community for an event that I am hosting.
I am an alumna from Simmons College, with a focus on Library and Information Science. I have a passion for books and want to do my part to help promote children’s literacy, especially at the Boston Children’s Hospital. I am committed to ensuring that the Boston Children’s Hospital receives a well sized donation of children’s books to be delivered prior to the Valentine’s Day holiday.
All donations will be given to the Boston Children’s Hospital through their Reach Out and Read Program.
New or gently used book donations can be accepted, with a preference towards books for children under the age of five (5) years old, however other books for any youth ages will be accepted. Along with each book donation that someone brings to this event, they will receive a raffle ticket per book, which puts them in the running to win some great prizes!
My passion, and desire to be an advocate, for literacy is the reason behind this event. Bringing our community together following the holiday giving season, all to make a difference in the lives of these children at our local hospital, will be sure to have a lasting impact on their literacy development. Please feel free to invite anyone to this event who you feel would be interested in to this much needed cause.
