In lieu of the regular monthly meeting by the North End Chamber of Commerce on November 5th, WE ENCOURAGE ALL MEMBERS TO GET OUT THERE AND VOTE! Participating in the election is important to all business owners and their employees. Our next Chamber meeting will be held on Tuesday December 3rd, 3:30 pm at St. Leonard Church Hall.

A few updates on the Chamber’s activities:

A student intern from Suffolk University, Matilda Ivarsson, was hired to support all chamber activities including supporting all meeting activities, assist with enhancing the NECC website, special projects for the chamber, as well as other marketing and promotion activities. Matilda can be reached at: staff@northendchamber.com

  • In the past month the NECC website has had over 200 visits, and 75% of these were new visitors. We want to market further through Facebook, if your business has a Facebook Page please ‘Like’ us and we will ‘Like’ you back!
  • The NECC is sponsoring the Fisherman’s trip to bring the Madonna to Sicily.
  • Planning is well on way for events and activities for the upcoming holiday season. We will be handing out $25 gift cards for families in need, as well as sponsoring The Nazarro Center’s Christmas party.
  • The beautiful Christmas tree has been arranged for and will be coming up soon!

A few other notes of interest:

December 3rd Chamber Meeting – John Romano, Municipal Liaison MassDot, and Neil Boudreau, State Traffic Engineer, from the Transportation Department will come and speak about the implications of the Callahan Tunnel Rehabilitation Project.

Steve Tocco is also coming to speak about the planned construction of a new casino in Everett.

American Express “Shop Small Saturday” campaign sent out notices to small businesses. Deadline to register your business is Monday, November 4th. For more information click www.americanexpress.com/shopsmallhere
