We are only a few short weeks away from the NEMPAC OktoberFesta fundraiser! Come celebrate all that NEMPAC does for our North End Community and enjoy a night with friends.
Over the last year, NEMPAC has been in a tremendous period of growth. In addition to our outreach education programs at schools- such as the Eliot Innovation School and the St. John School- NEMPAC also provides a wealth of arts based programming, both at the community and professional level. Here are a few examples.
Winter and Summer Concert Series: Starting in 2011, NEMPAC has hosted free concerts both in the Old North Church (winter series) and on the Prado (summer series). Since the series began, NEMPAC has not only provided free a rts programming to our community, but also featured dozens of local artists, helping them gain a platform in the Boston music scene. Our 2013- 2014 Winter Concert Series begins Friday, November 15th with a performance from the Scott Boni Trio. Don’t miss it!
Pumpkin Painting on the Prado and CCP outreach: Interacting with our North End kids is a highlight for all of us at NEMPAC. Each year we run several community arts events, welcoming neighborhood kids to come out and play! This past October, two such events were pumpkin painting on the Prado- a NEMPAC Halloween tradition- and attending the Columbus Day festivities at Christopher Columbus Waterfront park with a craft and instrument petting zoo! More great events are in store for 2014!
NEMPAC Opera Project: As NEMPAC grows, special focus has been given to producing professional arts productions. Conceived in 2012, the NEMPAC opera project was born to serve Boston’s artistic community of singers, instrumentalists and artistic staff, as well as the general public by providing affordable opera in urban Boston. Since 2012, the project has provided opportunity for over 125 artist in Boston, as well as brought opera to St. Paul’s Cathedral, Faneuil Hall and Christopher Columbus Waterfront Park, all in urban Boston. The project, now entering it’s third year has become a North End yearly tradition, bringing professional opera to our community.
We need your support to continue to serve as the North End’s leading arts organization! Get your tickets now for OktoberFesta and join us in supporting a great organization!

As the former President of NEMPAC, I am asking all of my friends in the North End to support their annual fundraiser. If you cannot attend, send a donation to help out the only Music Center in the North End. Not amount is too small. You can put a check in the mail or drop one off at the Nazzaro Center in put it in the mail box with NEMPAC’s Name. The programs they provide are invaluable to our children, families and adults.
Thanks,
JR
It looks like the date and venue have changed? I was under the impression that the party was at Filipo’s on Friday the 25th. Hopefully I can get a sitter for Saturday, wish there had been more notice on the change.
Dear local mom,
I’m very sorry that you were misled. The event on Friday night is not a NEMPAC event. The NEMPAC Board and executive director, Sherri Snow, planned the Octoberfesta event over a month ago in response to feedback that the community wanted a more casual and fun way to get together and support NEMPAC. I hope that you can find a sitter, the Fisherman’s Club will be a unique site for us to have some fun and benefit the North End’s only music and performing arts non-profit. Please feel free to follow up with me directly at 617/669-0048 if you have questions or want to discuss this.
Cheers,
Jennifer McGivern

I’m sorry, I’ve been out of the loop since returning to work recently. I understand the situation now. Thank you for replying.
