The North End / Waterfront Residents’ Association (NEWRA) has a new slate of officers for the 2013-2014 term. The five new executives ran unopposed and were unanimously elected by voice vote on October 10, 2013 at NEWRA’s annual meeting. The 2013-14 NEWRA Executive Committee includes four new officers with President Jim Salini returning for a second year.
President: Jim Salini, Charter Street (for a second and last term)
Vice President: Ford Cavallari, Battery Street
Treasurer: Nicole Rafter, Prince Street
Secretary: Elizabeth Ghiseline, North Square
Sergeant at Arms: Ed Rice, Snowhill Street

Nicole Freedman, Director of Bicycle Programs, will present the City’s plans to add bicycle lanes to North Washington and Cross streets, and will answer questions from residents.
37:00 NEWRA Comments on the Boston Garden Project and Government Center Garage Project
NEWRA’s Zoning, Licensing & Construction Committee Co-Chair, David Kubiak, led a review and discussion of the two major development projects proposed near the North End, in front of Boston Garden on Causeway Street and the Government Center Garage. NEWRA is expected to draft comment letters on each of these projects.
