Rain Couldn’t Hold Back the Boston Local Food Festival

The steady rain couldn’t hold back people coming to to the Boston Local Food Festival on the Greenway. Sunday afternoon, hundreds of locals came to sample some new foods, healthy substitutes, and locally grown seasonings. The festival showcased food trucks, farmers, fisher folks, local restaurants, and organizations focusing on healthy food and fitness. In addition to being free, the fest is also a zero waste event. They divert over 91% of their waste each year and they offset 100% of their energy use. All perishable items sold are made from locally sourced products.
