Responsible Urbanites for Fido, also known as RUFF, gave an informative update to residents at the September 12, 2013 meeting of the North End / Waterfront Residents’ Association. Updates were provided on their efforts to promote responsible dog ownership as well as safe and healthy recreational venues for dogs, dog owners and the community. RUFF has grown dramatically over its first full year, now counting well over 200 members. In addition to its ongoing educational and cleanup efforts, the group successfully led the restoration of the Richmond Street dog run and continues to work toward an eventual dog park. At the end of the RUFF presentation, NEWRA President Jim Salini announced the September 2013 Good Neighbor Recognition Award would go to RUFF for their consistent cleanup efforts in the neighborhood.
