The full moon on June 23, 2013 is a “supermoon” meaning it’s the closest and largest full moon of the year. The moon’s orbit around the Earth is slightly elliptical so when it’s as close as this, the moon looks much larger than usual. That’s a plane flying over the moon as it takes off from Logan Airport and a ferry boat on the harbor under the moon.
