News from the Campaign to Elect Philip Frattaroli:

Frattaroli Secures Spot on Ballot

First time candidate wins spot in city wide election

The City of Boston Elections Department has confirmed that Philip A. Frattaroli of the North End has officially qualified for the ballot in the City Councilor at Large race.

Frattaroli and his supporters collected 2,113 signatures, of which over 1,500 have been certified as registered voters in Boston.

“I am proud to have qualified for the ballot and am humbled by the support I’ve received from supporters who gathered signatures for me.” Frattaroli’s campaign did not rely on any paid campaign workers to secure a spot on the ballot.

Philip Frattaroli was born in the North End and grew up living above his parents’ restaurant. A first generation American, Philip’s family immigrated to the United States from Italy. Growing up in a small business provided Philip with life long lessons about the importance of hard work and giving back to the community.

Philip is a graduate of Boston College and Suffolk University Law School, and is a member of the Massachusetts Bar. In July 2009, in the depths of the Great Recession, Philip opened Ducali Pizzeria. A popular neighborhood restaurant, Ducali provides Philip the opportunity to support important causes; whether through the restaurant’s recycling program, by sponsoring local charities or by utilizing local farms, breweries, distributors and businesses.

Philip serves on the Board of Directors of Boston Youth Wrestling, a charitable organization building the sport of wrestling in inner city schools towards the goal of creating and funding varsity programs to Boston Public high schools. He ran the 2012 Boston Marathon to raise money for the UMass ALS Champion Fund. Philip is also the Executive Director of the Taste of the North End, an annual event that draws together local businesses and residents to support neighborhood programs for seniors and children. Philip was recently re-elected to the North End/Waterfront Council and lives with his wife Kelly in the North End.
