Piscopo will run in honor of her grandfather, Guy Piscopo, a WWI veteran born at 28 Fleet Street in the North End. The building with the Piscopo name still stands.
With the re-routing decision now in the hands of State transportation officials, hazardous material trucks continue to travel though the center of downtown Boston, the North End and waterfront.
