In many ways, it was a magical weekend in Boston’s North End / Waterfront as the Blizzard of 2013 had great timing to fall on a weekend, topped off by a sunny “Day After” Sunday. Sure, there were the expected problems from the 5th largest snowfall of all time, but most neighbors seemed to be in relatively good spirits. When the sun came out, the neighborhood looked like a wonderland. The snow was still pretty, there was very light traffic and people were outside everywhere! An igloo fort at Christopher Columbus Park was a big attraction for the young (and not so young). Lots of car owners were taking the opportunity to dig out. Dozens of kids made the most of the small hills such as along Snow Hill and “the flights” in the Gassy. Most streets received long awaited attention from the snow plows although a few of the most narrow variety are still waiting to be cleared. A selection of photos from “The Day After” is shown below. The election for Officers and Directors at Large will be held on Tuesday May 11, 2010. FOCCP is accepting nominations for Officers and Directors. The specific positions up for election are:
President Vice President Treasurer Clerk Director At Large (2)
Deadline for nominations is Tuesday, April 27th. As stated in the By-laws of the organization, “there shall be no nominating committee.” This means that members in good standing (members who have paid their annual membership dues of $15.00) who wish to run for election, nominate themselves.
If you wish to nominate yourself to run for any of the Officer or Director positions, please submit a nomination statement to the Clerk, Liz Greene, by emailing her at: info@foccp.org. Your nomination statement must include your name and address, the position you would like to run for and we encourage you to submit a statement in support of your candidacy. This information will be posted on the FOCCP website before the May 11th meeting so all members will have an opportunity to see who the nominations are for each position.
We are accepting self-nominations through Tuesday, April 27th.

the cleanup was a disgrace got stuck 3x’s in Boston today.I live in contry they did a much better job.The Mayor should be ashamed!!!
Looks like those lovely ladies are unfortunately committing a faux pas – dumping at least some of the snow from their car into the street that was plowed. The streets that have been well plowed won’t remain that way if everyone does this. Please don’t toss snow from your car or sidewalk into the street!
