In many ways, it was a magical weekend in Boston’s North End / Waterfront as the Blizzard of 2013 had great timing to fall on a weekend, topped off by a sunny “Day After” Sunday. Sure, there were the expected problems from the 5th largest snowfall of all time, but most neighbors seemed to be in relatively good spirits. When the sun came out, the neighborhood looked like a wonderland. The snow was still pretty, there was very light traffic and people were outside everywhere! An igloo fort at Christopher Columbus Park was a big attraction for the young (and not so young). Lots of car owners were taking the opportunity to dig out. Dozens of kids made the most of the small hills such as along Snow Hill and “the flights” in the Gassy. Most streets received long awaited attention from the snow plows although a few of the most narrow variety are still waiting to be cleared. A selection of photos from “The Day After” is shown below. the cleanup was a disgrace got stuck 3x’s in Boston today.I live in contry they did a much better job.The Mayor should be ashamed!!!
Looks like those lovely ladies are unfortunately committing a faux pas – dumping at least some of the snow from their car into the street that was plowed. The streets that have been well plowed won’t remain that way if everyone does this. Please don’t toss snow from your car or sidewalk into the street!
