New this season is the Blink! Christmas Tree light and sound show at Faneuil Hall Marketplace featuring a recording of the Halleluiah Chorus by the Boston Pops and Tanglewood Chorus. To mix it up, I took some photos and video of the show and used the soundtrack from the December 9th live performance of Handel’s Hallelujah by the Old North Chamber Choir & Orchestra with NEMPAC’s Women’s Chorus. See what you think, but to me, the local choirs and orchestra are on par or better than the loudspeaker recording, helped by the acoustics of Old North Church. The last minute of the video is loosely timed to the music show. Enjoy!
