Beautification Committee Lights Christmas Tree on Hanover & Cross Street Corner

The North End Beautification Committee held a special tree lighting event at the beautiful Christmas tree on the corner of Hanover and Cross Streets. This is the second year that the NEBC has funded the tree and streetlight pole wreathes in the North End.

Santa arrived in a horse-drawn carriage to the delight of many neighborhood children. City Councilor Sal LaMattina stopped by to congratulate the NEBC on their efforts. Hot chocolate and cookies were donated by Caffe Paradiso.

The North End Beautification Committee is a community-based volunteer organization with a mission to preserve, maintain and enhance the aesthetic integrity of this historic North End neighborhood, with the hopes to enrich its beautification through creative and innovative enhancements. Current committee chairs are Patricia Thibotout, Allison Seavey, David Grant and Stephen Passacantilli. The NEBC is soliciting donations for its holiday and Spring 2013 projects. Checks can be sent to the North End Beautification Committee, 100 Fulton St., 4v, Boston, MA 02109.
