St. John School held its annual “Make a Difference” Community Celebration this year at the Hard Rock Café, Boston on Wednesday night. It was a great night of celebrating and recognizing important people in the North End community and building new relationships.
The only remaining parochial school in the North End welcomed 50 new students this year by adding three classrooms. This brings total enrollment to over 250 students.
The guest speaker was Katie Everett, Executive Director of the Lynch Foundation (and Sam & Joseph’s Mom). Also speaking at the event was new Principal, Mrs. Karen McLaughlin and SJS Advisory Board member, Eric Chodkowski. Lisa Santarpio organized the event with the help of a dedicated committee.
The St. John School Advancement Advisory Board presented awards to:
Jim Luisi, Chief Executive Office, North End Waterfront Health Center
Lt. Garrett Meyer and MST1 Trevor Hughes
United State Coast Guard Boston, Mentor Program at St. John School
North End artist, Giovanni DeCunto, donated an original painting “Violette” that was raffled off at the event. The SJS choir also sang at the start of the event.
The Hard Rock Cafe has an ongoing relationship with SJS by offering weekly guitar lessons for St. John School students.
