5 Tileston Place Receives Support from Neighborhood Council for 3rd Floor and Roof Deck Zoning Relief

The North End / Waterfront Neighborhood Council voted unanimously (9-0 vote) on November 15, 2012 to support zoning relief at 5 Tileston Place. The property is within 100 feet of the Paul Revere Mall and therefore needs approval by the Boston Parks & Recreation Department.

Nigel Jacobs is the new owner of the property and is planning to add third floor living space for use as a bedroom and bathroom as well as extend a stair to allow access to a new roof deck. NEWRA also previously supported this application.

The video shows the presentation from the applicant’s architect, public discussion and the NEWNC vote.

  1. So Pulcinella gets shot down for a second floor and this guy gets approved for a third floor and a roof deck?

I don’t get it. Wasn’t one of the abutter’s problems w/ the Salem St address was she was afraid a roof deck was going to be constructed?

    1. Let’s see, a young family looking to add a bedroom to raise a child in the neighborhood (the roof deck was already there) vs more restaruant seats in a place with 100 others serving the same old thing bringing more noise congestion, traffic and probably a loud rood deck

i know what i would choose as a neighbor
