Plenty of goings on at the North End library and a NEWRA committee meeting tonight with 5 zoning applications on the agenda.
The Events Calendar has all the details.
What’s new on the blog:
The North End is a highly scrutinized neighborhood, and the Globe runs a front page article of the “culture clash” when a reporter takes a ride-along with the Boston Police on a Saturday night. I point out some of the interesting tidbits.
Speaking of zoning, columnist Karen Cord Taylor tells the story of a Beacon Hill school driven by downtown families that could happen in any neighborhood. See Downtown View.
What the kids are talking about:
The Improv Asylum show on Sunday, sponsored by NEAD. See the photos.

Neighborhood Photo of the Day:
A sad photo today. Ball and Buck has closed on Lewis Street after a relatively short presence at the North End’s most curious retail location.

FYI – Ball and Buck relocated to the corner of Newbury St. and Dartmouth at a larger location with a barber chair. It seems to be doing very well and growing!
