Major Announcement Concerning Eliot Elementary School Playground

I recently contacted principal Traci Griffith at the Eliot Elementary School concerning drinking and disturbances in the school playground.

In response, Traci has very constructively agreed to have the gate that abuts the Prado locked each evening at 9 p.m.

This will significantly discourage kids from entering the playground after dark.
Traci has worked with us on practical solution to this problem.  We are lucky to have her running this exemplary school.

If outdoor drinking or disturbances occur in the Prado, the schoolyard, or anywhere else in the North End, the police should be called immediately at 911.

Eliot School 585 Commercial Street Project Design Meeting on April 5th

The City of Boston Planning and Facilities Department and the Feingold Alexander Architecture Firm will be presenting the Eliot School 585 Commercial Street project design to the community. The meeting with be held on Tuesday, April 5th from 6pm to 7:30pm at 585 Commercial Street. Boston Public School personnel will also be at the meeting.

Eliot School Kids Visit City Council

About 33 students from the North End’s Eliot Elementary School visited At-Large Councillor John Connolly. The kids sang a couple of songs, showed off their knowledge about City Hall, and got to sit at the councillor’s desks in the Council Chambers.
