NEMPAC Theatre Troupe Amazes The Crowd With The Sound Of Music!

News from the North End Music & Performing Arts Center:

On Friday, July 13th, after only 4 days of rehearsals, the talented performers of the NEMPAC theatre troupe put together a fabulous production of The Sound of Music by Rodgers and Hammerstein. These gifted youngsters spent each day last week, from 9-4, working on their acting, singing and dancing in preparation for this performance, and what a performance it was!

Lead by NEMPAC instructor and Private Music Instruction coordinator Sherri Snow, NEMPAC has put together this summertime full day musical theatre instruction program. Children age 5-12 study music, acting and dance with a large production as the goal for each week. In addition to their theatrical training, they also have a special workshop each day, such as a drums hands-on experience with Jason Escape or playing the bells with NEMPAC’s Executive Director Becca Griffin. As if that were not enough, the workshop participants also help design and build the sets for the performance!

Workshop faculty includes NEMPAC instructors Hillary Denison, Rachel Carpentier, Alexandra Dietrich and Rebecca Rapoport-Cole.

Don’t miss the NEMPAC production on Friday, July 20th at 4pm at the Boston Harbor Community Church on Salutation Street in where the theatre troupe performs scenes and solos from Disney and other musical theatre classics!
