Euro Cup 2012 brought some of the 2006 World Cup fervor back to the North End’s Hanover Street in recent weeks. At least until Sunday, when Italy fans were disappointed as Spain won the European Championship, its third straight, 4-0 against the Italian team.

Just came back from a wonderful anniversary treat-"cruise and dine" from Quincy to Long Wharf. We ate at the Chart House and walked all around the North End. We were there when Italy beat Germany in soccer. Hanover Street went wild. We had a cannoli at Mike’s pastry before heading back for the boat home. The weather was perfect. Happy 38th anniversary to my Gene.Jean Healey Silverio
