Two announcements from the Friends of the North End Branch Library:

Accepting Items for Book Sale

The Friends of the NE Library will now be accepting new and gently used books, CDs, DVDs, and videos for our upcoming book sale.

We can not accept toys of any sort, magazines, or materials that are in poor condition. Please do not leave them at the library as it just generates lots of extra work to remove them.

Our upcoming book sale is scheduled for Saturday, May 19th from 10 am – 3 pm. We hope you can stop by and join us.

Please leave all your donations in the back program room under the sign labeled “Donations Here”.

Brick Walkway – Phase II

The Friends of the North End Branch Library are once again embarking
on a community project to raise funds for our neighborhood branch. We
are installing Phase II of a brick walkway honoring those who are
important to you and the community.

The funds will help to maintain and improve the gardens, obtain
curtains for the program room and help to make a difference in other
areas as needed.

For a donation of $100 (which is tax deductible) you can receive your
own brick in the walkway! You will be able to recognize special
memories, milestones, or honor an important individual. A perfect
gift for Mother’s Day!

Each brick is 4” x 8”. Each brick can be specifically detailed with a
personal message, important date, names of family members, etc.

North End Mom Hosted a Diaper Drive and Collected 1,150 Diapers for Low Income Families

Faria Chowdhury lives in the neighborhood and has two boys.  When her youngest son grew into the next size diaper she wondered what she could do with the remaining smaller sized diapers.  She did some research online and found an organization called DiaperCircle.org.  This non-profit collects unused diapers and distributes them to low income families.  Read More…
