Officer Elections and News from the Friends of NE Library

LibraryNorthEndIn a timely mailing received on Election Day comes the officer election results for the Friends of the North End Branch Library. The November newsletter announced that the volunteer positions were uncontested with one slate being moved unanimously.

The officers for 2010-2011 are:

  • President: Robin Ardito
  • Vice-President: Paula Luccio
  • Secretary: Peter Greene
  • Treasurer: Donna Wells

Congratulations and thank you to the officers for their efforts in helping our neighborhood library.

Holiday Open House – December 4th
The Friends of the NE Branch Library invite all our neighbors and friends to the annual Holiday Open House on Saturday, December 4th from Noon to 3:00 p.m. Al Natale and his Jazz Band will perform holiday songs. Neighbor Frank DePasquale’s Il Panino Express will supply food with prizes from other merchants and neighbors. Bring a friend.

Library News
The BPL has announced that the closing of four branches slated for this Fall is postponed until Spring due to the City’s finding some additional funding.

Paula Luccio has chosen a selection of lamps for the tables in the adult section. Phyllis Vitti reported on the refurbishing of the staff room thanks to assembling by Chris Wells of new shelving, table and chairs. An October 6th Friends coffee hour went well to celebrate Italian Heritage Month.

Robin has been faithfully entering the library’s events and special programs in the Community Calendar.

The next Friends meeting will be held on Wednesday, November 10th at the library. The December meeting will be at the Mariner’s House, 11 North Square on December 8th at 6:30 p.m.

    The next Friends of the North End Library meeting is actually Wednesday, November 10th @ 6:30 at the library. The December meeting is Wednesday, December 8th @ 6:30 at the Mariner's House (11 North Square).
