Loud Party Advisory Sheet & Police Contacts

Following up on the recent Public Safety meeting, the Boston Police distributed two documents for residents:
1 – Loud Party Advisory Sheet
2 – Boston Police District A-1 Contact Information

As part of the process that Boston Police use in dealing with loud party disturbances, an advisory sheet gets delivered as a warning to the owner and tenants.
The notice starts with a reminder:

“Respect your neighbor’s space, privacy, quality of life, and right not to be disturbed. Remember the common courtesies that go along with being good neighbors. Court action may be taken out against any tenant where police have responded to the tenant’s apartment for a disturbance call. This may lead to an eviction.”

The advisory cites the relevant laws, relevant court cases and lists potential citations and fine amounts:

“Residents who have loud parties, playing loud music and/or disturbing the peace, can also be issued a fine under the guidelines of the Ordinance Violations, City of Boston. citation book. The fines range from $50.00 to $200.00. Residents can be subject to arrest if they do not follow the direct cornmands of a police officer under the ordinance.”
