Conversation with James Hunt, City of Boston Chief of Environmental and Energy Services
The city’s chief spoke to the North End / Waterfront Residents’ Association (NEWRA) regarding a wide range of issues relating to the environment and energy use, including groundwater and recycling. Mr. Hunt oversees the Inspectional Services Department and the Environment Department, serves as chair of the Mayor’s Energy Management Board, and oversees programs and policies on green buildings, groundwater, park planning, recycling, renewable energy and certain transportation issues. He also answered specific questions regarding sea level rise, noise pollution, zoning enforcement and the bottle bill.
