Taranta’s Jose Duarte Honored for Green Efforts
Marcal kicked off their Small Steps for Big Change Awards program that will honor hometown heroes. To kick-off the program, Marcal has identified five hometown heroes who embody the spirit of the Small Steps for Big Change Awards program to act as judges.
One of these heroes is Jose Duarte, chef and owner of Taranta in the North End. His green restaurant is focused on sustainability by regularly composting, using vegetable oil as a source of fuel and even ensuring the bathrooms use paper products made from 100% recycled paper. He’s been able to marry his passion for food and the environment through Taranta.
