Soprano’s “Vito”, Joe Gannascoli, Creates Best Selling Sandwich at Pauli’s on Salem Street

Paul Barker (Pauli) and Joe Gannascoli (Vito's from The Soprano's)

When actor Joe Gannascoli came into Pauli’s North End shop, owner Paul Barker did not know his best selling sandwich was about to be created. Joe played the character Vito from The Sopranos and said to Paul, “I will make you famous.”

“The Vito” sandwich is made of chicken cutlets, imported ham, provolone cheese, roasted peppers, lettuce, tomatoes and chipotle mayo on fresh baked French bread.

It has been a few months and now Pauli’s sells about 40-50 Vito’s a day! So it seems Joe was right.

Pauli’s is at 65 Salem St. and is now open for breakfast too. See www.PaulisNorthEnd.com for more information.
