CANCELED: Recreational Cannabis Store Proposed for Faneuil Hall Marketplace; Public Meeting Sept. 17

Boston Globe cannabis reporter Dan Adams and Boston.com staff writer Nik DeCosta-Klipa shared some of what they found about why the meeting was canceled via Twitter.

A recreational marijuana retailer is applying for the location at 1 Faneuil Hall Marketplace in Quincy Market (near Sam Adams Tap Room). The applicant is Geoffrey Reilinger of Redemption Cannabis.

There will be a virtual outreach meeting on September 17 at 6 p.m. for community members to ask questions. Join the meeting here.

The public notice below will be sent to abutters, as well as posted on Boston.gov. The applicant will be required to attend the Wharf District Council, North End Waterfront Neighborhood Council (NEWNC), and North End Waterfront Residents’ Association (NEWRA) meetings.

  1. 1 Faneuil Hall Square is the address of the Abercrombie & Fitch building. Is this proposed establishment going into the ground level Abercrombie space or on an upper floor? Also does the City/BPDA own this building/land as it does with Faneuil Hall, North Market, South Market, and Quincy Market Colonnade buildings?

  2. If they drive more businesses out, they can house the grow operation there too. Merge it with the farmers market.
